“I have worked with Scott over the course of the last few years in several areas where security was a primary concern. The range of those activities ranged from efforts related to PCI compliance up to solutions involving all aspects of payment security. During these efforts, I personally worked with Scott to help define future state over the course of several months. Scott was personable and approachable with questions, even those that might have seem basic -- preventing an assumption from causing issues later on. He was able to provide a recommendation and sufficient information as to the reasons for that recommendation so that it was possible to understand the drivers behind that position. One area that I found Scott does a particularly good job is understanding how to balance the needs for security against the business needs to operate. Security is the opposite to convenience and our business partners wouldn't accept absolute security. Scott does a good job of working out a way to balance the needs of the business against the security and looks to find a good balance of risk avoidance. Therefore, I have no reservations offering my recommendation for Scott with regard to his abilities in the area of security and its application within business and IT. Further, if I was in a position to hire Scott for a security role, I would not hesitate to do so.”
